2 men arrested for police impersonation

NORTH BELLMORE, NY

The incident happened on Sunday at 4:50 a.m. in North Bellmore.

Police say 19-year-old Kamal Hack and 20-year-old Richard Ramsuchit were driving a black Ford Focus on the Southern State Parkway when they pulled up behind a man's car and flashed their high beams at him to pull over.

The 33-year-old man pulled his car over and police say that Hack approached the vehicle with a flashlight and identified himself as a detective.

When the victim requested additional identification Hack apparently told Ramsuchit at rear of vehicle that he should leave, and then told the victim he could leave.

The victim called 911 while following the suspect's vehicle to the intersection of Stowe Avenue and Wilson Boulevard, in Baldwin.

Moments later real police officers arrived and placed the suspects under arrest.

Both suspects are charged with 2nd degree Unlawful Imprisonment and 2nd degree Criminal Impersonation.
