Researchers have developed an important genetic test that may be the key to better detection of heart disease.

"The first gene" test is done through a simple blood test and results show which people truly need an angiogram.

Unlike other genetic tests, this one aims to tell whether the patient has the disease now by measuring the activity of 23 key genes.

The test drastically reduces the number of unnecessary angiograms which are expensive and somewhat risky procedures.
