Livery driver accused of 'kill Jews' threats

MINEOLA, N.Y.

He faces similar charges following his arrest in New York City last summer.

Demetrios Apolonides was arraigned Wednesday on a hate crime charge of aggravated harassment. He was ordered held on $45,000 bail. A number for his attorney was not immediately available.

Police say 37-year-old defendant wrote the words "KILL JEWS" on 1-by-3 inch pieces of paper in black marker. They say he dropped the notes in communities where he had driven fares.

The car service owner says he is cooperating with police.
