A federal jury in New Jersey has heard a former New York City police officer describe how he and several other men engineered the robbery of a northern New Jersey perfume warehouse.

Brian Checo testified Monday in the trial of NYPD officer Kelvin Jones, the only one of 10 men arrested for the February heist to go trial. Nine co-defendants have pleaded guilty.

Checo told jurors that he, Jones and a few other men rented trucks and drove to the In Style USA warehouse in Carlstadt, near the Meadowlands.

Checo said they entered the warehouse and tied up employees and made them sit on the floor in an office.

Prosecutors say the assailants hired day laborers to help them with the robbery and made off with thousands of boxes of high-end perfume.
