Police on Long Island say an 87-year-old man who was not dressed appropriately for frigid temperatures has died after being found in the snow.

Emanuel Maggio was reported missing from his West Babylon home at about 10:45 p.m. Wednesday. He was found about an hour later, lying in a nearby parking lot.

Earlier Wednesday, up to a foot and a half of snow fell across parts of Long Island. It was not immediately clear if the storm and the man's death were related.

Temperatures overnight were in the low to mid-20s across Long Island.

Police said an autopsy would determine the cause of his death.
