Jersey City woman says driver hit her on purpose

JERSEY CITY

"I thought I was going to die," Bianca Ortiz said. "I swear."

The 19-year-old Ortiz was hit by a car on Saturday, intentionally, she believes. And while she's a little banged up, she wasn't badly hurt.

It started when her younger brother's ball bounced into the street and hit a car.

"The guy stopped literally in the middle of the street and started cursing," Ortiz said. "'Why did you do that, why did you hit my car?', and I said, 'It was only and accident." So he was like, 'I'll show you an accident.'"

What happened next was seen by many witnesses, including Norah Perez.

"He backed up his car, went over the two yellow lines, while she was standing there and hit her," Perez said. "Went out of his way and hit her."

And with that, the driver drove on down Montgomery Street and blew through a couple of red lights, apparently unaware whether Ortiz was alive or dead.

Witnesses say the car was a silver Mustang with black stripes on the hood, similar to the picture above.

Just about everything hurts on Bianca now, but she knows it could have been a lot worse.

"Psycho, crazy, you have to be real crazy to hit someone with a car on purpose," Ortiz said.
