At least five parked cars were set on fire on Sunday morning.
The vehicle owners are wondering who would do such a thing and why?
"I came out this morning walking my puppy and saw my car burned to a crisp. At first I thought it was electrical but then I looked across the street and saw two other cars," Andre Eaton said.
Eaton found his pride and joy, a mint condition 1999 Lexus, torched.
He says losing the luxury car hurts, but knowing what it took to earn it stings.
"I work 12 hours a day every day. It's my toy, my possession. And now it's gone," Eaton said.
Firefighters responded to five back-to-back car fires early Sunday morning.
First at 5:12 a.m. on Adam Clayton Powell Boulevard and West 152nd Street.
The second, at 5:54 a.m. at West 154th Street and Macombs Place.
The third, at 6:08 a.m. at Bradhurst and West 149th.
The fourth at 5:35 a.m. again at 152nd Street and Powell.
And finally at 7:20 a.m. at 8th Avenue and West 137th.
Tawanna Brockington had her rental car parked a few feet away from one of the incidents.
She's moving the newer model Camry to a parking garage.
"I think people think it's fun and games but it's not. I don't know what they think they'll get out of this. People put their hard earned money here and now they have to get a new car," Brockington said.
Like Andre who's trying to figure out who did this and why.
"I've been here a long time and I've never seen anything like this," Eaton said.
The fire marshal is investigating.
