It ended with at least two off-campus shootings that left several people injured and nearly a dozen under arrest.
The annual /*RutgersFest*/ attracted tens of thousands of people to the /*Busch Campus*/ in /*Piscataway*/.
After the show, people gathered near the main campus in /*New Brunswick*/ and that's when the violence began.
It is supposed to be a concert and a weekend filled with parties, but the fun degenerated into a series of shootings after it ended late Friday.
In all, four people were shot following RutgersFest.
The injuries are non-life threatening and the injured are not students, still many students are plenty rattled.
They say partying is one thing but violence, another.
"Those are two different levels. There shouldn't be any fighting or shooting," student Matt Many said.
Adam Ahmed was serving food out of the popular "R U Hungry" truck and he describes a chaotic scene outside; wall to wall people and shots fired.
"It was very busy, you couldn't see anything. We heard the shot, a lot of cops were out," Ahmed said.
Eyewitnesses say the streets were packed with students who were drinking and rowdy.
New Brunswick police arrested 11 people for disorderly conduct.
As for the shooting victims, police say two brothers were most seriously injured.
One was shot twice in the buttocks, the other grazed by a bullet.
