Gator found on side of Long Island Expressway

An alligator was found on the side of the highway on Long Island.

The 3-foot long American Alligator was found along the Long Island Expressway about 1 1/2 miles east of exit 68 on the eastbound side Monday morning.

Two Suffolk County sheriff's deputies saw the creature and called the SPCA.

They're offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of whoever abandoned the gator.
