Long Island vintner produces 9/11 wine

NEW YORK

But critics say the wine's in poor taste.

The Daily News says Lieb Family Cellars of /*Mattituck*/ will donate up to 10 percent from each sale of the commemorative wine to the National September 11 Memorial and Museum.

New York City Councilman /*Peter Vallone*/ blasted the $19.11 bottle, saying "What's next? A 9/11 pastrami sandwich?

Irene Lavelle, whose husband died in the attacks, said it demeans the date.

Lieb general manager Garry Madden said the vineyard lost many friends on 9/11, and the wine was a way to give something back.

Sept. 11 memorial board member Monica Iken said the effort will help sustain the memorial for the future.
