Exercise while saving the planet

NEW YORK CITY

Participants are entertained by being called upon to Botania, where the natives have been sustained since antiquity by the ebb of Xi energy and it is their job to save them.

The physical adventure is Exerblast, an indoor experience in Tribeca created by choreographer Kate Gyllenhaal.

"I'm interested in helping people now just find joy in movement and this is the way to do it through an adventure, through technology, so you're distracted, you don't even know you're exercising," said Gyllenhaal.

The storyline of trying to save a planet encourages you along, up and around like a team of superheros.

The exercise's mission is to get families engaged in physical activity through a healthy, interactive way, by running and jumping to raise their heart rates, burn calories and rack up points on their intergalactic mission.

But, you don't have to have a family to do the exercise. You can bond with coworkers or just have a bit of fun.

You can register for different classes to take with your family, sign your child up for an after school program and even book a birthday party.

Through Exerblast, you are put through all different types of movement you wouldn't normally do in your everyday fitness. It is very unusual and innovative. And yes, you get a workout while saving a planet.
