Livery car service owner murdered in the Bronx

THE BRONX

The victim, 40-year-old Gordon Taylor, was found shot in the head in a garage across the street from his business.

The shooting happened just after 12:30 a.m.on Mayflower Avenue. Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene.

The motive and suspect remain a mystery. Police have not revealed if anything was stolen from the victim.

"I got to deal with coming to work and not seeing him come ever again," one of Platinum Luxury Car Service's drivers said.

The employees are still taking calls and moving out Friday, but their hearts are still as they struggle to deal with Taylor's murder.

Taylor was well-loved, and a makeshift memorial quickly sprouted up outside the business' front door.

"We gonna keep as business as usual," an employee said. "You understand, that's what he would've wanted. He worked hard."

Taylor was shot just after leaving work, as he got in his car parked in a rented garage across the street from the company's home base. Employees say the father of three followed his usual routine, walking out the front door and starting his SUV remotely. But as he opened the door, he was shot in the head.

"Somebody took our heart today, and we want it back," a friend said. "We want to know who did it."

The investigation is continuing, but no suspects have been named.
