Shots fired at suspects during armored car robbery

NEW YORK

Police say two men, one wearing a orange MTA construction vest, held up the driver outside David's Check Cashing on Third Avenue just before 8 a.m.

The driver fought back and fired shots at the suspects as they fled.

An investigative source tells Eyewitness News that the gunmen escaped with $100,000.

Police taped off the check cashing business as they investigated.

No arrests were immediately made.
