There's proof that treating high blood pressure with medication could add years to your life expectancy.

A study found patients who take drugs to control their blood pressure lived a day longer for each month of treatment.

Researchers say the earlier you start taking medication, the more years you could add on to your life.

The report was published in the Dec. 21 issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association.
