Police say the victim, identified as Tara Hawes, was found by her in-laws in her second-floor apartment on 30th Street just before 8:30 p.m.
She was slashed across the throat.
It was unclear how long she had been dead.
No arrests were immediately made.
Detectives are looking to speak with the woman's husband.
