Catering with a pinch

Bob Spiegel and T.J. Girard launched Pinch Food Design less than a year ago with the goal of giving the catering world a provocative pinch.

T.J. is the designer.

"Bob will come up with edible architecture, and we present it," T.J. Explained.

Sometimes she creates the serving concept, and gets it built down stairs in their Chelsea studio.

The final results range from taco holders, smores in slats, magnetic forks and even a slot to dispose of them, glasses that balance plates, silicone table tops painted with sauces and dotted with hors d'oeuvres, a flexible tray that holds donuts in place, and even flying puffs of food, exploding from the wall, and a croquet game for those that drop.
