Nassau Co. urges red light violators to pay up

MINEOLA

Drivers with three or more unresolved parking summonses or red-light camera notices are subject to immobilization or towing of their vehicles.

Nassau County Comptroller George Maragos urged drivers with outstanding tickets to pay them.

According to Newsday, removing the boot will cost $150, while retrieving towed vehicles will cost $125, plus $20 per day for storage.

Numbers have varied, but last May county officials said about 359,000 tickets worth more than $49 million were outstanding.
