Three injured in Lower Manhattan high-rise fire

NEW YORK

The fire broke out in an eighth floor apartment at the Alfred E. Smith Houses on Pearl Street just before 7:45 a.m.

One resident was taken down from the apartment on a tower ladder.

At least three people were hurt. None of the injuries were life threatening.

The cause of the fire was found to be an unattended candle.
