Homecoming parade held for Marine

NORTH MERRICK, N.Y.

A parade was held in honor of U.S. Marine Kevin Vaughan in his hometown of North Merrick.

He was wounded by a road-side bomb last September.

After undergoing several surgeries, he lost his left leg.

Hundreds lined the streets to pay tribute to Vaughan, for his sacrifice and heroism.

Vaughan has received a purple heart, and Friday he was presented with a flag that flew over the U.S. Capitol.
