Pedestrians struck, then driver stabs one victim

NEWARK, N.J.

Two men were walking down Martin Luther King Boulevard near Park Avenue Wednesday afternoon.

A red Honda came down the street and slammed into both of the men.

One man jumped out of the car and stabs one of the pedestrians several times, and then took off in the car.

Both victims, a 30-year-old and 19-year-old, were transported to UMDNJ for treatment of their injuries.

The stabbed victim is listed in critical condition.

So far there are no arrests.

The Essex County Prosecutors office is investigating.
