Friends, family gather to bid farewell to Hal Jackson

Friends and family will gather to bid a final farewell to one of the founding fathers of modern broadcasting.

A memorial service and funeral for radio legend Hal Jackson will be held at Riverside Church in Upper Manhattan Thursday.

The Reverend Al Sharpton and former Mayor David Dinkins are among the mourners expected to attend.

Jackson helped break numerous color barriers in the entertainment industry.

He died last week at the age of 97.
