App helps you shop and save in NYC

NEW YORK

"I wondered why there wasn't a site or app to help me navigate," she said.

So she decided to create an app. It's called /*Snapette*/.

"It's really supposed to be a tool in the palm of your hand to window shop stores around you," Paiji said.

For instance, if you're on /*Bleecker Street*/, the app will show you a curated list of shops nearby plus items they feature. The map will show you exactly how to get there.

"When you're in the vicinity of a boutique that wants to send you a special discount or sale you'll get a push notification," she explained.

You'll be treated to 20-60 percent off sometimes it's everything in the store. Sometimes, it's one item. For example, Otte is offering Snapette users 20 percent off a Kaye dress.

Not far away, another push notification from Rebecca Taylor for 20 percent off a dress. For the consumer, that's an unexpected savings. For the shop, it's more traffic.

Once you're ready to buy that sale item, just show the Snapette notification at the register and save.

Learn more about the app at www.snapette.com.
