It happened on 71st Avenue in /*Flushing*/ just before 6 p.m. Monday.
Police say the driver parked his truck and turned on his blinkers.
He was crossing in the middle of the block when he was hit. He was rushed to the hospital in serious condition.
Witnesses say the driver who stayed at the scene was speeding.
No charges have been filed at this point.
