Kidney transplant recipients and donors reunited

NEW YORK

Weill Cornell Medical Center on the Upper East Side hosted a party for kidney transplant recipients.

These children and their families celebrated not just how lives were saved, but also how lives have changed.

10-year-old Evan Hubbard was just 5 when he was part of the first-ever living-donor kidney transplant chain.

"This year is like my fifth anniversary, and again it's really epic, it's pretty epic," Hubbard said.

Evan's parents were not a match for him and he was part of the first-ever living-donor kidney transplant chain.

The generosity of others still chokes up Evan's mother.

Thursday night's event gave doctors and nurses a chance to catch up with their former patients and their families.
