Police say 16-year-old Alishia Colon was killed by a bullet to the head last Thursday.
Cruz Martinez, Jr., is now charged with her murder in the shooting.
Police say Colon hid her younger brother from Cruz and paid for it with her life.
Colon's funeral is Thursday.
A judge set bail for Martinez, who was arrested Saturday in Pennsylvania on an unrelated warrant and will be extradited to New Jersey, at $10 million.
