Health care aide accused of stealing from patient

What's all the more offensive, they say, is that the victim was a developmentally disabled resident in a group home, where Ms. Hanney was her trusted caretaker.

Sergeant Mark Pulaski of the Suffolk County Police says that the victim noticed everything herself, and that Hanney bled her bank account of more than $3,000.

Hanney the money to take a Florida vacation and make payments on her Toyota Highlander SUV. This was all possible because she had the victim's debit card and pin number.

Noreen Hanney did not answer the door at her home in Bay Shore on Friday afternoon, but her sister refused to discuss the case.
