Six all-electric Nissan Leaf cabs will hit city streets Monday.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg wants at least one third of the city's cabs to go electric by the year 2020.
A yellow and gray Leaf taxicab will be on display to the public at Rockefeller Plaza. The environmentally-conscious cab will demonstrate how to reduce CO2 emissions on clogged city streets.
The cars are also expected to reduce upkeep costs, because they don't use engine belts or need oil changes.
