The firefighters union says data shows response times were underreported by more than a minute, and these false stats are justifying the proposed closings of 20 fire companies.
Sal Cassano said in a statement, "I have always strongly supported reporting complete and accurate response time information and the department has always been thoroughly transparent about how it calculates response times."
