Fire tears through row of businesses in Brooklyn

NEW YORK

The fast-moving three-alarm fire broke out on 11th Avenue and 63rd Street in Dyker Heights just before midnight and destroyed a grocery store, a dry cleaner, a pharmacy, a liquor store and a Chinese restaurant.

Now, business owners are left to pick up the pieces.

Several firefighters were treated for minor injuries, but thankfully, no one was seriously hurt.

It took several hours to bring the fire under control, in part because witnesses said firefighters had a difficult time removing the metal gates blocking the storefronts.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
