Police say 32-year-old Larry Olavarria, of Clifton, New Jersey, ran a red light Wednesday afternoon and slammed into a minivan.
The crash happened just before 4:30 p.m. on Houston Street at West Broadway.
Upon arrival, officers found Olavarria unconscious and unresponsive.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
There is no criminality suspected.
The investigation is ongoing.
