Up Close: Joe Lhota, Republican mayoral candidate

Vowing to unify the city, former deputy mayor and MTA chief Joe Lhota last week clinched the Republican nomination in the race for New York City mayor.

He's drawing a clear distinction between himself and his Democratic rivals.

But how will he win over so many voters who say they want to see the city change course.

New York City Democrats may out number Republicans six to one, but that hasn't stopped voters from electing Republican mayors.

Lhota won a three-way Republican primary on Tuesday to move on to the general election in November.

Watch the videos as Lhota talks Bloomberg, racism in campaigns, unions, education and all the other hot-button topics in the race.
