Father of toddler shot in Brooklyn charged with subway robbery

NEW YORK

Police say 22-year old Anthony Hennis punched and robbed a man on a number 3 train in Bedford-Stuyvesant.

The suspect's 16-month old son Antiq Hennis was the child who was shot and killed in his stroller in Brownsville in September.

Police say the gunman was trying to hit the father pushing the stroller.

Hennis was identified by two female witnesses as the suspect in the attack on a southbound number 3 at Saratoga Avenue on Oct. 3rd.

Hennis and his accomplice allegedly approached a 19 year old man and his pregnant sister on the train at around 1:30 p.m.

Investigators said the suspects made verbal threats and as the train pulled into the station.

The teen gave one of the suspects his watch, and then he was punched in the face. The 2 suspects then took off.

Two women on the train who witnessed the attack went up to the victim and told them that they recognized one of the suspects as the father of Antiq Hennis.

Hennis has at least 23 prior arrests, mostly on drug charges.
