The family of a woman critically injured in a hit and run accident in New Jersey is pleading for the driver to come forward.

The accident happened back on Aug. 21st.

Police say the 36-year old victim was getting out of her car on Slocum Way in Fort Lee when she was struck.

The woman was thrown underneath another parked car by the force of the impact.

The victim has been hospitalized at Hackensack University Medical Center since the accident with life-threatening injuries.

The victim's family also hopes to raise awareness of traffic safety, noting that 68 pedestrians were struck by vehicles in Fort Lee in 2012, with four of them killed.

The family arrived from Korea after the accident and has been in New Jersey ever since.

Police are looking for a black vehicle involved in the Slocum Way hit and run, with front end damage.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Fort Lee Police Department at 201-592-3524 or the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Fatal Accident Investigative Unit at 201-336-7700.
