Investigators released surveillance video of the men they're looking for.
The two approached 29-year old Marco Castillo as he walked on Westchester Avenue in the Soundview section at about 4 a.m.
Police say there was a fight between one of the men and Castillo, and the other suspect shot Castillio when his companion appeared to be losing the struggle.
The victim, who was shot in the head and chest, was pronounced dead at Jacobi Medical Center.
Authorities say the suspects then fled the scene.
