Death of a college freshman

December 11, 2013

A student at Baruch College in New York City is dead in some sort of ritual at a frat retreat in the Poconos. 19-year-old Michael Deng was hurt at a home in Pennsylvania where about 30 members of a frat had gone for the weekend. Deng was one of 4 pledges, and cops say he was hurt, and later died, during some kind of ritual in the yard.

We're on the story tonight at 11.

Also at 11, an amazing and frightening luxury car theft ring- discovered but not busted. The thieves have stolen more than 300 cars in the Tri-State - secretly putting GPS devices on them, tracking them, and then stealing them. Nearly 50 have been sold, for more than $2.4 million. Wow. Our Josh Einiger is on the story.

We'll also have any breaking news of the night, plus Meteorologist Jeff Smith (in for Lee Goldberg) with his AccuWeather forecast, and Rob Powers with the night's sports. I hope you can join Liz Cho (in for Sade Baderinwa) and me, tonight at 11.
