Police officer credited with bringing baby back to life in Manhattan

NEW YORK

Police say they responded to a call of an unconscious baby on 181st street. When they arrived the one year old baby was unresponsive.

Officer Thomas Dunn who responded to the call, was approached by a firefighter with the limp baby in his arms.

After not seeing any response, Dunn, who was a former EMT placed the child on the trunk of his patrol car, gave him two chest compressions and two rescue breaths. The child immediately began gasping for breath.

He was transported to Columbia Presbyterian in stable condition and released later to his mother and said to be doing well.
