Huge crowds at WTC PATH station after ice suspends service

WORLD TRADE CENTER

Service was suspended from the World Trade Center to both Newark and Hoboken due to ice conditions at the Exchange Place and World Trade Center stations.

Huge crowds of stranded passengers gathered at the terminal, trying to make it the 33rd Street and 6th Avenue stations to reach their destinations.

Officials said ice was falling of 1 World Trade Center itself, meaning people were held inside the station. Passengers were being redirected to World Financial Center (Brookfield Place) via the West Concourse until further notice.

Service was out for about a half hour beginning just before 9 a.m. and at the height of rush hour.

Many frustrated riders took to social media to voice their complaints and fear over the scary situation.
