Dispute ends in gunfire on Long Island

LEVITTOWN

The shooting happened around 2:00 p.m. on Bloomingdale Road in Levittown.

Neighbors told Eyewitness News reporter Kristin Thorne that they heard as many as 5 shots.

Authorities tell Eyewitness News that the tenant fired a gun at the landlord.

The landlord was not hit by a bullet, but was wounded by flying glass. A woman driving by in car also hit by flying glass.

Both declined treatment of their injuries, officials said.

The suspect surrendered to authorities around 4:30 p.m.

Elementary and middle schools in the Island Trees School District in Levittown were placed on lockout as a precaution.
