Newark fire leaves 3 homes destroyed

NEWARK

It started at around 2 a.m. in a home on South 20th Street.

Flames then spread to two other houses but everyone made it out safely. Firefighters got the flames under control around 3:30 a.m.

One home was levelled in the fire, and firefighters now say two others will have to be torn down.

A house across the street also suffered some minor damage from the heat of the flames.

At least six people were evacuated, but there are no reports of injuries.
