24-year-old Joshua Simser of Brooklyn was arrested and charged with 2 counts of Murder.
On Saturday, around 12:30 p.m., NYPD officers responded to a report of a deceased person inside the building and found the unidentified man inside a storage container. He was unresponsive, and emergency workers later pronounced him dead at the scene.
Police do not yet have a cause of death and the investigation is ongoing.
Police have not identified the victim and it is unclear how long his remains were in the home.A woman outside the crime scene Saturday afternoon said she used to live with the victim. She said he was 38 and had a 7-year-old son.
A few people said the man had been well-known in the neighborhood.
