COLLEGE POINT, Queens (WABC) -- Over two dozen people were injured when pepper spray was deployed inside a school cafeteria in Queens on Friday, officials said.
Fire officials said a 911 call was made just after 12:45 p.m. from the College Point Collaborative Middle School.
The caller reported that someone had sprayed pepper spray inside the school's cafeteria and that several people were having difficulty breathing.
The FDNY said total of 26 people were injured and 11 students were taken to the hospital.
The injured included staff and students.
Police said a student deployed the pepper spray.
