2 Hillside police cruisers crash into trees during chase

NEWARK, New Jersey (WABC) -- Two Hillside police cruisers crashed into trees during a chase into Newark early Thursday morning.

It happened at Wilbur Avenue and Bergen Street just before 1 a.m.

Officers from both vehicles were treated for minor injuries.

It's not clear what sparked the chase, but Newark police officers were not involved.
