Teen gets 18 years for Halloween murder

WHITE PLAINS Westchester County Judge Gerald Loehr imposed the second-degree murder sentence Monday on 19-year-old Nyanda Charley of Mount Vernon.

Charley had admitted shooting 52-year-old Neville Webb. The guard had tried to chase off a group of youths throwing eggs near the Mount Vernon apartment complex where he was working on Oct. 31, 2007.

Webb spent a quarter-century as a prison guard in Jamaica before coming to the United States in 2005. His family said his organs were donated to nine people.
