Investigators say Tyler Daniels and two other teenagers tried to break into a home on Lake Drive in Wyandanch about 3:00 Sunday morning.
Someone inside the house fired a single shot that killed Daniels.
The other two teenagers were arrested on burglary charges.
The person who fired the bullet fled.
Police say they want to find the shooter to determine if any charges should be filed in the case.
