The shooting happened Friday morning inside an apartment in the East New York neighborhood. The victim, Nijee Thomas, was shot in the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Christopher Mitchell was arrested Saturday on charges of manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon.
Mitchell was awaiting arraignment Sunday. No information about a lawyer for the teenage suspect was available.
