Small plane crashes in Lincoln Park

LINCOLN PARK, N.J.

Pilot was the only one injured when the plane came down while trying to land shortly after 11:00 a.m.

Leslie Gwyn-Williams of Verona, New Jersey, who is the registered owner of the plane, was flown to Morristown Memorial Hospital with multiple leg fractures and other internal injuries, officials said.

The 61-year-old pilot told police he left Morristown Airport and attempted to land at Lincoln Park airport when he said the plane suddenly lost power and he crashed into the parking lot and eventually into a tree on the property of Gro-Rite on Hillview Road.

The parking lot where he crashed is less than a quarter-mile from the airport.
