Pinpointing risks for early menopause

NEW YORK

A University of California study found women who have one of two genes linked to breast cancer started menopause in their mid to late 40's.

Most women start in their mid-50's.

In another study, University of Pennsylvania researchers found earlier menopause for women with chronic inflammatory diseases such as lupus.

Doctors hope the findings will help women make fertility decisions at a younger age.
