LI police arrest 2 in violent home invasion, robbery

ISLAND PARK

Nassau County officers arrested at least two men at the Plantation Motel.

Police say four men broke into a home on Kildare Road in Island Park just before 11 p.m. Wednesday.

According to detectives, a 25-year-old woman opened the side door of her home when the four black males, all dressed in black with black masks and armed with guns, forced their way into the house.

Police say the victim attempted to run up the stairs, but was struck on the head with a gun. A 17-year-old male was also forced to the ground and struck several times on the head with a gun. The suspect then went through the victim's pockets and took his cell phone.

The suspects then broke down a bedroom door, finding a 29-year-old woman and a 6-year-old boy. The child was struck on the head with a gun.

After ransacking the apartment, the suspects fled on foot in an unknown direction with two rings and a cell phone.

Nassau County police ambulance transported the 25-year-old woman, who sustained abrasions to the head and wrist, to a local hospital for evaluation. The other victims refused medical attention.

Detectives ask anyone with information regarding the crime or the remaining suspects to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
