Wake Thursday for SI teen in 'bullying' suicide

NEW YORK

Fifteen-year-old Amanda Cummings took her own life by throwing herself into the path of an oncoming city bus on December 21. She died six days later.

Cummings' uncle says that even while Amanda was on life support, people were posting inappropriate comments on her Facebook page. Keith Cummings says that his niece was tormented by bullies and was dealing with romantic problems. He said the bullies mocked her and took her phone, shoes and jacket.

The NYPD, however, has determined that no criminality is suspected in the case.

According to The New York Times, police investigated the uncle's allegations but found no indication that the girl had been harassed.

The wake will be held from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at A. Azzara Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest on Friday at 10 a.m.
