Woman killed after tire flies off passing car

WOODBRIDGE

Claudine Pierre-Louis, 21, was airlifted by State Police helicopter and taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick after the accident.

"She is my heart. She is someone I can't ever forget," said Louis Pierre-Louis, Claudine's father.

Pierre-Louis is being who his family has always counted on him to be: the foundation of strength, though his heart is so heavy in losing his Claudine.

They'd been waiting for her to come home Saturday, then State police came to the door.

The video obtained is from www.nj.com, a passerby recorded the aftermath of the Saturday afternoon tragedy along the Garden State Parkway in Woodbridge.

State Police say a tire snapped off a Dodge Dakota. The tire went airborne, and slammed into the windshield of Claudine Pierre-Louis' Toyota Camry. She was airlifted to Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center in New Brunswick.

Claudine graduated last year from Stockton University, with a degree in psychology. She landed a job, however died last night from her injuries.

"She was an amazing person very generous, said Charlene Semelfort, Claudine's cousin.

The family says it realizes this was an accident.

State police are still investigating and no charges have so far been filed.
